Programme Objectives: |
1. To introduce the game of golf to masses in a fun and recreational way. 2. To promote golf as a healthy sport activity or hobby. 3. To teach students the importance golf safety rules so as to develop a safe and conducive environment for maximum learning. 4. To learn and apply the knowledge of the sport science in physical preparation for golf and motor skills learning. 5. A hands-on learning the correct fundamental and special skills of the golf swing techniques. 6. An experiential learning session with instructions, guidance, motivation, feedback and performance outcome. 7. The life skills will be integrated in the teaching process for positive character and personality development so as to promote a holistic learning. 8. A fun, thrill and enjoyable session under the tutelage of our golf coach. |
Description of Programme |
Fun for Novice learning golf swing skills at golf driving range
This is one-off programme conducted at golf driving range. The session starts with golf introduction on: emphasis of golf safety rules; how the game is played; and the equipment used. Our teaching methodology is by direct, indirect, demonstration and hands-on learning to benefit each student of auditory, visual and kinaesthetic modes of learning. Student will learn the correct ways to hold the golf club, the golf posture and the position of the golf ball for the golf swing skills. The correct body movement patterns of an efficient golf swing technique are facilitated by low intensity static and dynamic physical drills practicum. The hands-on learning will encourage each student to utilize their gross motor, visual perception and cognitive skills. The contents of the learning will be broken down clinically for easy learning and retention. Student will learn and play within their physical and athletic ability. We will be eliciting the student physical talent for optimum performance. The golf coach will provide supervision, guidance, motivation, feedback and enhance retention of the golf swing knowledge and skills for the student. The life skills include but not limited to: awareness; self-esteem; assertiveness, coping with stress; coping with emotion; and social effective communication will be integrated in the teaching process for adaptive of positive behaviours. This is to promote a holistic learning. The benefit of this programme is to have a fun, challenging and exciting session. The performance outcome is for student to hit and fly the golf ball to an intended target. We will also be identifying student’s talent to take up regular programme for future golf development. |
Description of Session: |
The session begins with golf introduction on: the game of golf; how the game is played; the equipment used; emphasis of golf safety rules; and
performing static and dynamic warming up exercises. Next, the coach will teach the iron golf swing technique by: performing the technique several times for the student observation; instructing the student to pay attention on body and club movement patterns; providing guided instructions on technique performance; and highlight the key points for auditory, visual and kinaesthetic student learning modes. Then, the student will practice the technique. The coach will be going to each student to provide assistance and guidance. There will be repeats of the technique guided instructions to benefit the less able students. The coach will select an able student to perform the learned technique so as to encourage and inspire the less able student. This also shows that the technique’s capability can be performed at their learning level. After that, the mini-games will be introduced for fun playing when the student ability surfaced. The coach will perform some trick shots to entertain and maintain the student learning motivation. Lastly, the coach will conduct an oral assessment on what was done well and how they could have play better to finish the session. |

Basic training golf clubs will be provided. School is to purchase practice golf balls for the students. The cost is $3.40 for 40 practice range balls per student. Students are grouped to share the practice bays at the practice range. |

Student is required to come in golf attire. Golf shoe (or sport shoe), collar T-shirt and proper short or pant. |

Student must has their water for refreshment. |
Food and snack: |
Strictly no foods and snack to be consumed during the lesson. |

We will focus on the student character development, learning effort, skill excellence and enjoyment. |

Student safety first: |
Student must be in good health, fitness and follows golf safety instructions during golf lessons. Student who DOES NOT follow safety instructions will be stopped immediately from their golf swing practice. (This include excessive of swinging the golf club during lessons that may cause blisters on the hands or fingers) |
Protective gear: |
Student is required to wear golf glove, golf shoe or proper sport shoe. |
Inclement weather: |
In the event of inclement weather the lesson will be conducted at the sheltered practice range. |
