Description of Programme

Fun for Novice learning golf swing skills at golf driving range

This is one-off programme conducted at golf driving range. The session starts with golf introduction on: emphasis of golf safety rules; how the game is played; and the equipment used.

Our teaching methodology is by direct, indirect, demonstration and hands-on learning to benefit each student of auditory, visual and kinaesthetic modes of learning.

Student will learn the correct ways to hold the golf club, the golf posture and the position of the golf ball for the golf swing skills. The correct body movement patterns of an efficient golf swing technique are facilitated by low intensity static and dynamic physical drills practicum. The hands-on learning will encourage each student to utilize their gross motor, visual perception and cognitive skills.

The contents of the learning will be broken down clinically for easy learning and retention. Student will learn and play within their physical and athletic ability. We will be eliciting the student physical talent for optimum performance. The golf coach will provide supervision, guidance, motivation, feedback and enhance retention of the golf swing knowledge and skills for the student.

The life skills include but not limited to: awareness; self-esteem; assertiveness, coping with stress; coping with emotion; and social effective communication will be integrated in the teaching process for adaptive of positive behaviours. This is to promote a holistic learning.

The benefit of this programme is to have a fun, challenging and exciting session. The performance outcome is for student to hit and fly the golf ball to an intended target. We will also be identifying student’s talent to take up regular programme for future golf development.
Description of Session:

The session begins with golf introduction on: the game of golf; how the game is played; the equipment used; emphasis of golf safety rules; and performing static and dynamic warming up exercises.

Next, the coach will teach the iron golf swing technique by: performing the technique several times for the student observation; instructing the student to pay attention on body and club movement patterns; providing guided instructions on technique performance; and highlight the key points for auditory, visual and kinaesthetic student learning modes.

Then, the student will practice the technique. The coach will be going to each student to provide assistance and guidance. There will be repeats of the technique guided instructions to benefit the less able students. The coach will select an able student to perform the learned technique so as to encourage and inspire the less able student. This also shows that the technique’s capability can be performed at their learning level.

After that, the mini-games will be introduced for fun playing when the student ability surfaced. The coach will perform some trick shots to entertain and maintain the student learning motivation.

Lastly, the coach will conduct an oral assessment on what was done well and how they could have play better to finish the session.
