Programme Objectives: |
Beginner Golfer (monthly) – Golf Game Playing Skills Improvement on the Golf Course 1. To have fun and enjoyment in the greenery golf course environment. 2. To exhibit the improvement of student golf swing technique acquired during lessons and practice for actual golf game playing conditions 3. To ensure and enforce each student to follow game safety rules and exhibit sportsmanship. 4. To ensure student employ their correct game plan and management. 5. To emphasize student on correct utilization of golf pre-shot routine mental skills. 6. To emphasize on the application of fundamental golf game psychology toward game improvement. 7. To ensure life-skills improvement for the game: self-discipline, social skills, equipment organization, physical and mental preparation. 8. To elicit each student’s performance from their game experiential learning and reflections. 9. The students will play under the supervision, guidance, motivation, performance feedback of the golf coach. 10. A fun, enjoyable and challenging game with outcomes coupled with gaining the playing tacit knowledge and experiences. |
Description of Programme |
This is a monthly 3-hours weekday programme geared to transform golf beginner to be a recreational proficient golfer. Student will immerse in a fun, enjoyable and challenging 3-hours greenery golf course environment. They are required to exhibit their improved golf swing technique acquired during lessons and practice for actual golf game playing conditions. The game playing will ensure student to follow game safety rules and exhibit sportsmanship. This includes: respect for other players, instil fair play, play by the rules of the game and exhibit high integrity at all time during game participation. Student is required to have a game plan and management for game improvement. Golf coach will emphasise on the mental skills game application on each student. The mental skills are: visualisation; judgment; goal setting; decision making; right golf club selection; pre-shot routine; broad and narrow external concentration; and confidence for all golf shots performance outcome. Student are required to apply golf game fundament psychology which is composure, relaxation, attentional-focal, emotion controls, board and narrow internal concentration and confidence at all time during the game participation. The student will play under the supervision, guidance, motivation, performance feedback and tutelage of the golf coach. The game will elicit each student’s performance from their experiential learning and reflections. Student will need do their game performance assessment and evaluation. We will identify the student strengths and the weaknesses for improvement. The life skills include but not limited to: awareness; self-esteem; assertiveness, coping with stress; coping with emotion; and social effective communication will be integrated in the teaching process for adaptive of positive behaviors. The benefit of the programme is a fun, enjoyable and challenging game with outcome performances. Student will gain the tacit knowledge and experiences from the game performance. We will also be indentifying student’s talent to take up regular advance golf development programme for school golf tournaments. |
Description of Session: |
The session begins at the driving range preparing for the game. Students will: do static and dynamic warming up exercises; practises all the golf
technique; attain their physical and mental readiness for game performances; and perform a simulated game play. Next, the students proceed to play the game by the rules and exhibiting their sportsmanship under the tutelage of the coach. The role golf coach is: to ensure the adherence of safety rules; supervise and observe performances; provide guidance and instruction. The coach will be providing oral formative assessment during the game. On completion of the game, student is required to do a self assessment on: what they have done well; how could they have play better; and importantly the skills that need for improvements. Lastly, the coach will provide the corrective and value-laden feedback to close the session. |
